Director/Principle Mineral Properties Consultant

Brian is a Mining Title expert with more than 30 years’ experience in the exploration/mining industry. This includes over 20 years as a mining title consultant, employed by HEMTS. Brian is the Director of HEMTS (QLD) and Principle Mineral Properties Consultant for the Brisbane office.

From 1986-1992, Brian gained broad experience in the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines (DNRM). For the last two years at DNRM, Brian was based in Charters Towers as the District Tenures Officer. This included several stints as Acting Mining Registrar.

Brian’s eight years with DEEDI provided an in-depth knowledge of Departmental policies and procedures, as well as the Mineral Resources Act 1989 and associated legislation. Brian frequently finds that this knowledge is invaluable to his clients.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree through the University of New England and an Associate Diploma in Cartography from the Queensland University of Technology. These cartographic and environmental qualifications also adds depth to the services and experience provided by HEMTS (QLD).

Brian has provided mining title and environmental consulting services to HEMTS’s clients since 1992 and has an in depth knowledge of the current and previous mining title and environmental regimes in Queensland.

In addition to various high level industry and government working groups, Brian is a member of the Exploration Committee of the Queensland Resource Council. Representation on these committees provides HEMTS’s clients with the most up to date information on current and future issues affecting the Queensland mining industry.

Loren Egan

Manager / Senior Mineral Properties Consultant

Loren joined HEMTS team in January 2008 as a Mining Titles Officer. Aside from managing the office, Loren’s main responsibilities include maintenance of tenements statutory requirements for her clients, lodgement of applications and renewal via MMOL database, preparation of Entry Obligation Reports, lodgements of technical reports on DNRM’s QDEX database, issuing Preliminary Notices of Entry, ensuring compliance of native title annual payments, preparation and negotiation of Deed of Variation, preparation and lodgement of various submissions to the Department.

Prior to her employment at HEMTS, Loren studied marketing and moved on to manage the office of a concreting and construction company.

A diligent and committed worker, Loren has applied her existing and acquired skills to efficiently manage Queensland tenures.

Loren is a member of QRC and Environmental Committee and other high level industry and working groups, ensuring she is up to date with all the latest legislative changes. This allows Loren to provide accurate and efficient advice on current and strategic mining title matters.

Kylie-Ann Martin

Kylie-Ann Martin thumb

Office/Accounts Manager

Kylie-Ann joined the HEMTS team in 2008 and became the office and accounts manager in 2011. She utilises her human resource qualifications to assist the team in achieving their best.

Kylie-Ann has trained in both MYOB and Xero as well as Asian studies. Her work history also includes a stint in Japan as a Relocation Coordinator in Nagoya.

Stacey Dale

Senior Mineral Properties Consultant

Stacey joined the HEMTS (QLD) team in March 2010 as a Mineral Properties Consultant. Stacey’s main responsibilities include lodgement of reports direct with DNRM’s QDEX database, lodgement of new tenure applications and renewals, preparation of land access reports, issuing Preliminary Notices of Entry and ensuring compliance with native title administrative payments. Stacey is a qualified Justice of the Peace and has completed her Certificate III in Business Administration. She is currently completing her Certificate IV in Frontline Management.

Stacey is a member of DNRM’s Industry Reference Group and other key industry committees, ensuring that she is up to date with all the latest legislative changes.
